‘Yot me do? Mammy, yot me do?’
That was the cry from me
When I was bored
Mammy had to find solutions
While at the sink she did ablutions
While I sat in the house
Just bored and bored
When our life is nowt but play
We can be idle all the day
Never doing work
Or anything
Life must be
One long entertainment
Not for us gainful employment
Just sit there and say
‘Yot me do?’
The grown up life
Is balance built
Prayer and work
And play a bit
Live for others
Think of them
Life of service offer them
Never again to hear
‘Yot me do?’
