Dank dreich drizzle falling
Continues our wet May mauling
Grey sky overhead
Underfoot wet bed
Of weeds and thistles
Needing overhauling

Summer was in April
That bright Tuesday
Ever since its
We are not amused day
Cold wet and windy
Is our station
Don’t even mention the word
Vacation

Climate change
Looks all the same to me
You wouldn’t mind
If this was January
But May! I ask you
What in tarnation’s going on?
That thing in t’ sky
What happened to the sun?

It’s falling steady even as I write
Glad am I to be safe warm inside
It will pass
As granny told Steve Coogan
Don’t go mad calm now
Keep your hair on

We see all seasons
As we journey on
Wet and windy
Warm and summer sun
Cold and ice rain and snow betimes
Couldn’t be doing with
Hot sun all the time

What’s this? A coming brightness
In the sky
All things pass I told you now
Don’t cry
The rain will do some good
The wind knows where it goes
And darkness too
It helps us to repose
