Peaceful Easy Feeling

Quiet corners of the world
Invite our spirit in
Come and rest your weary heart
Come away from din

Dorinish out in Clew Bay
An island you could buy
A refuge and retirement home
It caught John Lennon’s eye

Escape from noisy drug-fuelled world
Island in the stream
A home he’d build in later years
That, that was his dream

McCartney too the sixties boy
Urged to get away
Found a farm in old Kintyre
Linda loved to stay

The price of fame is very dear
Could easily take your life
Find a quiet corner then
Remove yourself from strife

I was blessed from earliest days
A quiet place to know
Erris – western headland
Every year we’d go

Inherited land and lineage
Kingdom of my dreams
My dad’s escape from mining
From working endless seams

All my life it’s been there
Faithful true and kind
Like Taylor I sing about it
Erris in my mind
