I have seen Pope Francis
Still in meditation
Before the Holy Sacrament divine
In silence in communion with the Saviour
Content to be there, content to spend his time
The fruit of that silence
Is his sermon
The word he shares with everyone around
Today he tells about God’s Holy Spirit
The difference that it makes so profound
A Comforter who transforms
Our every weakness
Who gives us strength
Though weaknesses remain
Who takes away our fear
Of self and others
Enables us to stand to live again
As Advocate the Spirit
Stands beside us
Inspiring thoughts and feelings for our good
Prompting us in the ways of acting wisely
Prompting not demanding understood
Live your life today
Live in the moment
No looking back or forward anxiously
Live for others not for selfish reasons
Put God first and the Lord will live in thee
This the word of God
Proclaimed this morning
By Francis to a world that sorely needs
A comforter an Advocate to help us
To live the word to put it into deeds
