Covid has made no difference to me
My life was quiet before it came along
I wear a mask I wash my hands
I keep my distance too
I watch as a pandemic passes through
Panic stations deaths accumulating
Eventually the penny drops I see
Our island sense of isolation
Slowed our minds from action station
Boris wanted UK buoyancy
I have been so lucky on my own
No crowded house no urgency to phone
Retired now well provided for
No job to lose no endless queues
No children stuck at home
Vaccination came and went for me
Called in twice no fuss no third degree
Son and grandsons visit when allowed
Quiet corner Stirling not a crowd
What a peaceful life here certainly
Like the avenging angel Egypt style
I stayed indoors while plague scoured the land
People losing loved ones here then gone
Nurses working on and on and on
Life for me was peaceful all the while
Each should do the little that they can
To make our world a peaceful place to be
I write verses that folk may like to read
To encourage you to share supply a need
To witness to a joyful loving creed
