Homes under the Hammer
Gets my attention
To see old houses
Transformed into new
You wouldn’t believe
The changes that come over
A rotten dwelling
Horrible to view
The satisfaction
Lies
In transformation
Neglected houses
Homes that time forgot
Visions of the new
Where once existed
Nothing but
A damp and dismal cot
This changing of a scene
Recalls Isaiah
Who told of people
Made whole again in God
Who build up ancient ruins
Build on old foundations
Restorer of ruined houses
They are called
The work we do on houses
Is a lesson
To do the same
Show people that we care
To do the same
For the community we live in
Restore all ruined houses
Give fresh air
