Small Talk Saves Lives
I saw it on a van
Railway network
Wanting you to know
Talk to the Samaritans
Don’t disappear inside
Don’t walk on the track
Its suicide
Locked in inner conflict
Anyone can be
Down
And wanting to be out
The battle waged within
Is one that we can’t win
Vital that we talk
Give the shout
Small talk every day
Is such a winning way
I have a neighbour Gerry
And we chat
Each morning at the door
With the world
We wipe the floor
And can you see the Celtic coming back?
And always on my walk
I’ll have a little talk
If only to say how do you do
That daily salutation
Is the means of our salvation
It’s good to talk
Engaging me and you
I have a smart degree
In repression now you see
All my woes were locked away inside
But now my inside’s out
I know what it’s about
Watch out for those
Forever trying to hide
