To Hell With Death’s Dominion
How could World War Two
Have been prevented?
A question that I often ask myself
It didn’t have to be
I get the feeling
If other factors
Came down from the shelf
The bloodshed and the cruelty
Enormous
Six long years of bloody misery
Turning a blind eye to
Growing rumbles
Letting evil men go on
Scot-free
The shock of World War One
Made people frightened
To even think a war could be again
And the fate of those in
Faraway dominions
Is not a thing to give us any pain
Our enemies deserve
Our best attention
Their grievances deserve to be addressed
If not a new explosion
Will attend us
As Gaza and now Israel attest
So many million people
Lie forgotten
So many soldiers died ‘to set us free’
They could have lived
If people had remembered
That justice is the source of liberty
Offer the wicked man
No resistance
Does not mean that we just lie down and die
Take away the cause of his resentment
And peace will follow in the by and by
The Lord he advocates
A revolution
A way of living guaranteed to fly
‘Love your enemy’
The strange commandment
Make peace along the road
Before you die
