It’s beautiful, Kinnoull
A hill above the Tay
That forms a bend
Flowing from Dunkeld
And lapping Perth
It makes a turning eastward
For Dundee and the sea
As I beheld
Standing on the height
A world around me
A cliff face sheer
Dropping to the floor
And on the gentle slope
A monastery
Hidden by some trees
You should explore
Once a stone bare building
On a barren hill
A Romish statement
Against the Protestant will
Now a place of peace
Tranquillity
Where all are welcome
And they come to chill
Rubble built
A warm and uncut style
Magnificent of face
To make you smile
An atmosphere
Of calm consideration
A place of ease
To soothe the soul awhile
I lived some pleasant days
In this dear building
It speaks of peace
To any troubled soul
And Maggie came for
Comfort in her troubles
I met the one who made
My own life whole
The world has changed
The Church,
The Reds change too
Nothing stays the same for very long
But Kinnoull stands tall
And ever gives you welcome
God bless the work
And all who there belong
