A Language That The Stranger Does Not Know

Tyldesley had a language of its own
An accent and a dialect so strong
Others from a few miles down the road
Couldn’t fathom ‘owt’ about what’s wrong

Cousins in from Manchester
– That’s foreign
Their accent much milder then by far
But my friends in Bongs didn’t think so
And they listening
Couldn’t wait to give their verdict
And to jaw

My pal next door came up with his opinion
His expression so revealing out the blue
“DUN’T THA COUZINS TAWK FUNNY’
Was his verdict
To a Tyldesley ear I guess that’s very true
