Glencullenside
Debates like the Oxford Union
Comical asides
A running commentary
On the world’s affairs

Sarah knew a thing or two
And what she didn’t know
She’d get by strong enquiry you see
Conversation was her education
And she was educated to a high degree

No need for television
Nor a radio set
The house buzzed with talk
The whole long day
And when it got to evening
And before we quenched the lamp
We would ask Aunty Sarah for the song

The youngest of the family
But not behind at all
Sarah was a lovely one indeed
She was what we call a character
And character she had
If words are food
We truly had a feed
