You can’t sit here all day
Watching telly
Or is it true
Your life is now quite flat
In life we have to be
We have to do
To occupy ourselves
And something make

The wisdom that you seek
Do something
The advice that I was given
My brother and my son
Said that to me
I had forgotten
The thing that made me happy
And put away the very thing I need
My pen
Words have always been my single purpose
My plaything my lifeline and my goal
Sing a song tell a story
Write a sermon strong
It’s words I need
Words where I belong
Poems can be beautiful and funny
Thought provoking
Imparting wisdom too
Like painting on a a canvas
Inviting us come see
A world revealed
In just a word or two
