1994 in Inverness
In a shoe shop
Off the chilly street
Michael being fitted for a shoe
I stood there oh so proud
And watched his feet
I rarely saw him
Since I was away
An absent dad
But wanting to be there
A fleeting summer holiday with Maggie
And then down south
But really God knows where
And leaving
Maggie reached out for his coat
But Michael felt too warm to put it on
Wait till he gets outside
I then suggested
The air in Inverness will change his tune
And so it came to pass…
We change our clothes according to the weather
To fit us for the temperature outside
And we change our mood
To fit us for the people
The smiling and the sullen attitude
And we ourselves
We can be the weather
The atmosphere that other people breathe
So rid your self of storms
And chilly seasons
Be the one to put folk at their ease
