We’re here to help heal suffering
And that makes life worthwhile
To find the joy in living
Though it takes us many a mile
And Sheila Hancock made me smile
She’s eighty-four you know
She climbed a mountain for a film
And she really knows the score
The things that mean the most to her
Enumerated fine
A good hotel, a toilet
And plenty, o plenty of wine
Her husband John I liked a lot
His Morse a favourite too
A miserable bugger he
But the truest man came through
The pain he knew just being alive
Was more than he could bear
His mother left him and he a child
What pain, then lingered there
And I have upset tum just now
It occupies my mind
And threatens to cloud my daily life
All consuming now I find
To hell with this I’ll have a glass
And let its magic spell
Illuminate my soul again
And precious mysteries tell
We need each other all the time
The wine has told me so
And celebrating others
Is the only way to go
The world is full of mischief
And things we can’t resolve
But look out for one another
And the game of life we solve
