When Margaret died the music died for me
I did not play or listen to a tune
And sing – I could not sing
I that loved to sing
A love song would have nailed me to the floor
I did play songs
But they just set me crying
It felt like an indulgence at the time
So I stopped the sound of music altogether
And settled for reading books of crime
But now the music’s back
I love to listen
And to sing along
Especially rock and roll
The Eagles and the Highwaymen
John Fogerty as well
CCR Have you ever seen the rain
And today I picked a song
And knew its power
Would set me off but happy would I be
The Last Farewell by Roger Whitaker
Would bring me tears
But that’s okay by me
And I will be aboard that ship tomorrow
Though my heart is full of tears at this farewell
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
